Originally a country person although I spent many years in Sydney studying and working in the museum sector, I have kept strong ties to the rural and regional sector. I have a great understanding of the issues facing small regional museums, having spent the past 10 odd years working across the state on varied projects as a museum advisor and a contractor. I am very much a people person and love working with enthusiastic teams to facilitate, encourage and achieve great outcomes.
My background is in Fine Arts and I have a double Honours Degree in Textiles and Art History. My doctoral research investigated the role of museum objects in storytelling, with the primary aim being to preserve the stories gathered and reconnect them to relevant artefacts and collections in Riverina museums.
Trained originally in Adelaide as a secondary art teacher, but with aspirations to be a scribbler and painter, champion sportsman and traveller, my background has been diverse, interweaving education, creative arts, management, farming and gardening, curatorial work and roaming various parts of the planet.
