We are busy gearing up for the 2016 Imagine Awards night on 11 November with tickets going on sale this week.

This year we have had 68 nominations across all categories showcasing the incredible commitment, and innovative work that exist throughout the museum and gallery sector in NSW.

It is pleasing to see an increased interest in the Engagement Programs category and in the number of submissions from artist-run galleries and smaller galleries with less than two paid staff. We have also seen an increase in the number of nominations from larger institutions in both the Engagement Programs and Exhibition Projects categories.

A highlight this year has been the impressive number of nominations for Aboriginal projects and programs, with a total of nine nominations submitted which is a significant increase on previous years.

To find out who will be this year’s winners make sure you register for the awards night at Verge Gallery. This year we will be joined by our special guest, The Hon. Leslie Williams MP, Minister for Early Education, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, and Assistant Minister for Education.

We’ve made it even easier to register for this year’s event by taking registrations via eventbrite. Just follow the link below and book with a credit or debit card.

Museums & Galleries of NSW helps small-medium museums, galleries and Aboriginal cultural centres create exciting experiences for visitors and, through this, thriving local NSW communities. We don't run museums, galleries and cultural centres but we care about those who do. We develop their skills, connect them with others in the industry, provide funding, point visitors their way, and give them access to ground-breaking exhibitions.

Museums & Galleries of NSW is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.

Museums & Galleries of NSW
(M&G NSW) provides programs and services improving the visitor experience in small to medium museums, galleries and Aboriginal cultural centres across NSW.
