Heritage Near Me – Introduction to energy management

Heritage Near Me and partners in OEH’s Energy Management Services program have announced the second round of training sessions called Introduction to energy management.

Being energy smart is business smart. The cost of energy and the efficiency of its use have become major factors
in operating any business. Learn the ins and outs of energy management, so your organisation can maintain its competitive advantage and increase productivity.

Who should attend?
Owners and managers of publicly accessible heritage items. Small business owners, local councils, commercial building owners and non-profit organisations are encouraged to attend.

How much will it cost?
Face to face training is free for all participants.

What happens next?
Training participants with eligible projects will then register for a Post Training Support program. This program will provide direct support for participants in developing analysis and recommendations for their heritage site. The documents developed during Post Training Support will be used in an application for the Heritage Green Energy Grants program.

Your first step towards the Heritage Green Energy Grants
This training course complements the Heritage Near Me program’s Heritage Green Energy Grants. This grant program seeks to support the implementation of energy efficiency projects for heritage items listed on a local council’s Local Environment Plan and/or the State Heritage Register. This program recognises that energy efficiency can be more difficult to achieve for heritage items because building age, materials, type of construction, size, shape and site orientation all play a role in how heritage buildings perform.

Training is currently scheduled in the following areas:
