Senior technician
The Building Services and Infrastructure Portfolio brings together a highly experienced team of technical and professional experts to plan for, manage and upgrade the National Gallery’s facilities.
The portfolio has responsibility for:
§ asset management planning
§ strategic projects
§ capital works
§ facility management
§ security services
and is committed to meeting the National Gallery’s targets against our:
§ Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (for which the portfolio is the lead)
§ Reconciliation Action Plan
§ Disability Inclusion Action Plan
§ Gender Equity Action Plan
The primary focus of the Senior Electrical Technician is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Gallery, which include:
§ Heating
§ ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system
§ non-display lighting and electrical services
§ maintenance of plant and equipment and building fabric
§ site maintenance
§ plumbing
§ cleaning and utilities, which also includes energy management.
The Senior Technician receives an on-call allowance and is required to participate in a rotating on call roster and when on call, must be contactable and available to work outside normal working hours.
This position is located in the Building Services and Infrastructure Section of the Facilities Management Department and reports to the Head of Facilities, Security & Visitor Experience and is a non-ongoing full-time role. A merit pool maybe create with this recruitment to assist in future vacancies.
