Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) is a progressive art museum that enriches the cultural life of the Albury region and ranks among the leading art museums and galleries in Australia. The new role of MAMA Registrar works within the Curatorial department to ensure professional registration and care of the Murray Art Museum Albury collection and artwork loans.
-Ensure the professional registration and care of the Murray Art Museum Albury collection and artwork loans.
Develop and maintain an industry standard collection management system.
-Ensure the safe movement of all works of art both in and out of the Museum including the collection, packing, transportation, storage, handling and dispersal in line with museums best practice.
-Contribute to facility management operations where they relate to the security, storage, and care of artworks
-Promote a cohesive and inclusive working environment by working collaboratively with staff, contractors and volunteers across the museum
-Maintain an up to date and holistic understanding of the museum’s objectives through a proactive engagement with museum activities and programs.
-Monitor emerging trends and best practices within the arts sector relevant to museum registration and collection management
Based on a 35 hour week, working Monday to Friday with actual days and times to be negotiated with the supervisor, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO guidelines. The position is based onsite at Murray Art Museum Albury, at 546 Dean Street Albury.
