Project Officer, Climate Solutions Centre
About the role
The Project Officer, Climate Solutions Centre (CSC) will work with the Curator, Climate Change to enable the delivery of projects by providing research assistance, administrative support, liaising with stakeholders and management of project logistics. Touring exhibitions, web resources and events are some of the key projects the Project Officer will work on, in addition to general administrative support for the CSC.
About you
We are seeking a skilled team player and problem solver, someone happy to be flexible, meeting new tasks and challenges with calm and able to work in a fast-paced, complex area. The Project Officer will be committed to helping the public understand and engage with climate solutions. They will be willing to give presentations and help manage events and education programs. They will be able to pick up new tasks quickly, manage multiple projects at one time and complete them efficiently. They will bring care and dedication to the role and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to support public programs (under Flexible Work provisions). They will be happy to take direction as well as working independently.

Knowledge & Experience
- Experience of working in the area of climate change impacts and solutions in the Australian context an advantage.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in a role managing complex projects involving a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience of carrying out research and writing on nature, science and/or social subjects for a general readership.
- Familiarity with First Nations approaches to caring for Country an advantage.
- Experience of working in a museum environment in a programming, education or communications role an advantage.
