Program Assistant – Visitor Experience

Provide high level engagement and service to deliver tours and experiences of the collection that support the Art Gallery’s strategic plan of connecting with existing and potential audiences more effectively.

What technical / soft skills you require

1. Tertiary degree, or equivalent industry experience, in art history, fine arts or education, with strong knowledge of art history, contemporary art practice and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Australian art more broadly.
2. A knowledge of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture.
3. Proven experience and success in the delivery of programs to a high volume of international visitors of cultural diversity, with patience, respect, and a flexible approach and manner.
4. Experience in public speaking and facilitating creative discussions.
5. Good organisational skills, including the ability to establish priorities, achieve goals, and effectively work both independently and collaboratively.
6. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously with visitors.
