National Centre for Creative Learning Coordinator

Overview of the position
The MCA’s vision is to take a leadership role in shaping a creative and equitable Australia that values contemporary art and artists, and we are committed to making contemporary art accessible and inspiring for everyone.
This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the MCA’s National Centre for Creative Learning (“NCCL”). Reporting to the Creative Learning Manager, the role works closely with members of the Audiences Division (including Public Programs and Access), Artist Educators and other internal and external stakeholders.
As a key member of the Audience and Engagement team, the NCCL Coordinator oversees internal communications relating to use of the centre, including the rostering, briefing, and training schedules of casual and part-time Artist Educators. The role also works closely with the Group Bookings Assistant to support the efficient administration of group bookings and program delivery. The NCCL Coordinator oversees the appearance and maintenance of the Learning Centre, including the upkeep of materials, resources and equipment, and is responsible for WHS processes.
In addition, the NCCL Coordinator provides support for the Creative Learning programs and provides logistical support for key programs and events.
Tasks and responsibilities of the position
• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the NCCL, including provision of support to Artist Educators, Audience Division and other NCCL users.
• Coordinate the Artist Educator roster, timesheets, and related communication with the casual team.
• Support the Group Bookings Assistant in the efficient administration of group bookings and program delivery.
• Coordinate key administrative processes relating to the NCCL, including responsibility for team use of management systems software including but not limited to Ungerboeck, ESP and Time Target/Human Force.
• Oversee the maintenance and appearance of the NCCL, including responsibility for WHS processes and upkeep of materials, resources and equipment.
• Support the Creative Learning programs, providing logistical and administrative support for teacher professional development programs, including the maintenance of teacher programs with NESA; and liaise with Public Programs about other NCCL and Artist Educator bookings.

Essential criteria
Applicants must be able to demonstrate they have:
• current Working with Children Check (NSW)
• experience using database software
• experience and understanding of administrative, pay roll and timesheet systems and processes, with strong attention to detail
• time management skills, ability to trouble-shoot and manage competing priorities
• ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ability to be flexible and respond to new opportunities and changing circumstances as required
• commitment to the Museum’s objectives, including making contemporary art accessible to broad audiences
• commitment to the MCA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Policy.
Desirable criteria
It would be good if applicants have:
• previous experience in an administrative or visitor experience role in a cultural organisation
• demonstrated interest in contemporary visual arts and education
• demonstrated knowledge and/or awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture
• experience using web CMS.

Please note that it is currently a requirement as per the MCA’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, that all employees are fully vaccinated. You will need to provide evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination if you are successful. Please note that full vaccination as per the current NSW Government guidelines means two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for adults, and any future approved vaccination boosters. The MCA continues to review this Policy on a regular basis and may change the vaccination mandate requirements in the future.
