Manage the conservation lab of the Chau Chak Wing Museum and conservation activities of museum collections on a day-to-day basis
Working as part of the Chau Chak Wing Museum team, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Museum Conservator to support with the management and conservation of the University’s collections. As the Museum Conservator, you will have accountability and decision-making pertaining to the museum’s conservation activities, procedures and protocols.ontact: Maree Clutterbuck maree.clutterbuck@sydney.edu.au
In this role, you will be responsible for the management of the conservation lab, including chemical and safety issues; you will be the primary contact for all environmental and IPM issues; you will supervise any casual conservators and external conservation work. You will recommend, oversee, and execute the conservation and documentation of both CCWM collections and exhibition loan objects.
You will participate in the development and installation of exhibitions and condition check/treat all proposed acquisitions and loans both incoming and outgoing. As time allows you will work with Sydney Analytical to conduct and publish research on conservation issues.
