The Guest Relations Assistant reports to the Head of Development and is an important part of the Biennale team, working on the planning, execution and evaluation of the 22nd Biennale of Sydney’s Opening Week Program. The role assists with coordinating opening week events, including invitations, and is the primary point of contact for VIP guests. The position offers the rare opportunity to work in a small team and be involved with participating Australian and international artists and visitors in the delivery of one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in the Asia-Pacific region.
A proven track record in coordinating events, a keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required. Excellent attention to detail is essential to ensure efficient administration of 20th Biennale events, including invitation lists, RSVPs and door lists.
Excellent communication and people skills are required for answering queries from visitors and managing guest relations. The ability to work closely and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, from funders, artists, venues and galleries to Biennale Management and staff, is essential.
