General Tour Guide
Established by the Federal Government in 1999, the Harbour Trust protects and manages extraordinary foreshore sites on Sydney Harbour. Our portfolio includes Cockatoo Island, Headland Park (Mosman), Macquarie Lightstation, North Head Sanctuary (Manly) and Sub Base Platypus (North Sydney).
Each site is rich in history, with artefacts from Sydney’s naval, industrial and convict history as well as strong ties to First Nations countries.
Striking a balance between innovation and conservation, our role is to continually breathe new life into these locations, creating vibrant public domains where visitors can engage with local history and enjoy unique experiences.
The General Tour Guide is responsible for communicating the history and significance of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust’s sites at Cockatoo Island and Sub Base Platypus. Tour groups comprise of the general public, families and special interest groups.
• Australian citizenship or the ability to work in Australia
• The role of Tour Guide requires many face to face interactions with potential clients. To minimise the risk of catching COVID it is an inherent requirement for the occupier of this role to be fully vaccinated against COVID
• Demonstrated experience in heritage or museum guiding
• Demonstrated experience in teaching.
Level 2 (casual) $30.42 plus 10% superannuation and 25% casual loading
