Exhibition Support Officer
Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG) is one of Maitland’s most vibrant spaces, delivering premier art and cultural experiences for our local community. MRAG staff are passionate about creating unique and interactive experiences for the general public and Maitland Visitors. To help execute our vision of delivering high quality and accessible art experiences, Maitland City Council is seeking three casual Exhibition Support Officers to join the MRAG team. Exhibition Support Officers will work closely with Gallery Curators to prepare and de/install a diverse range of artworks and exhibitions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of artists and artistic practice whilst contributing to the core operations of Maitland’s Art Gallery.
If you are passionate about helping to create a visually appealing space that connects with our community and helps foster curiosity amongst our visitors, then this is the role for you! You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications or be undertaking a relevant degree, coupled with contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in an Art Gallery or Museum, installing and de-installing exhibitions. Experience in safe and professional artwork handling procedures will be looked upon favourably, as will an ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work productively and collaboratively in a team environment.
This is a casual opportunity, offering an hourly pay rate of $33.90 + 25% casual loading + super.
