Digital and Special Collections Archivist


This role will ensure that digital, audio-visual and photographic archives of the National Art Archive are well-managed for long-term preservation and made more accessible through digital platforms and on-site for gallery staff, researchers and the interested public. The Digital and Special Collections Archivist will be a key team member contributing to the 3-year Digital Preservation Project beginning in 2020.

What technical / soft skills you require

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial experience working with born digital collections.
  2. Experience in the principles and practices of contemporary archiving and in the use and development of library/archive/collection management systems.
  3. Strong awareness and understanding of international standards and best practice for digital collecting and standards for the management of born digital material.
  4. Practical experience in the use of systems, databases, online tools, hardware and applications to preserve digital collections.
