This role will ensure that digital, audio-visual and photographic archives of the National Art Archive are well-managed for long-term preservation and made more accessible through digital platforms and on-site for gallery staff, researchers and the interested public. The Digital and Special Collections Archivist will be a key team member contributing to the 3-year Digital Preservation Project beginning in 2020.
What technical / soft skills you require
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial experience working with born digital collections.
- Experience in the principles and practices of contemporary archiving and in the use and development of library/archive/collection management systems.
- Strong awareness and understanding of international standards and best practice for digital collecting and standards for the management of born digital material.
- Practical experience in the use of systems, databases, online tools, hardware and applications to preserve digital collections.
