Look magazine is the publication of the Art Gallery Society of NSW (AGS), a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee (Note: we are not a public service organisation) that runs the official membership program for the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW).
Do you have strong art historical knowledge, good writing, excellent time management and creative problem-solving skills? We are looking for a high performing individual with professional experience in working with artists, curators, writers and other creatives to join our team publishing one of Australia’s leading art magazines.

The Deputy Editor assists in all aspects of the production of Look magazine, the bimonthly members publication. This position works closely with the Editor to write, commission and edit content for each issue.
Look is a bimonthly 84-page arts publication that is a key benefit of membership. Look is posted to members, keeping them informed about exhibitions and events at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, enhancing their experience of visiting the Art Gallery and fostering their connection to the state’s leading institution for the visual arts and its membership body.

This position works with the Editor to support the production of editorial content including identifying potential story ideas, writing articles and briefing internal and external writers, designers, photographers and other contributors. The Deputy Editor is responsible for sourcing the images for each issue and managing the licensing of images for use.

The Art Gallery Society of NSW (AGS) is the official membership program for the Art Gallery of NSW (AGNSW). Our purpose is to deliver a range of benefits, events and services to over 30,000 members and to support AGNSW with financial assistance toward artwork acquisitions, programs and exhibitions – creating opportunities to enhance the experience of the Art Gallery for our members and the community.
