The position
This is a new and exciting opportunity that forms part of our Programs team and will work
collaboratively across our Education, Curatorial and other departments and stakeholders at the
Gallery and within communities.
Ensuring Indigenous culture is at the centre of the national cultural agenda is foundational to the
Gallery’s Learning Strategy and applicants should have a deep understanding of the issues
affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, along with the ability to communicate

The PERLA Department develops and delivers a wide range of innovative and engaging
learning programs to increase access and understanding of the Gallery’s art collection and
exhibitions. To be successful in this role you will need to be highly organised, use excellent
communication skills and work together with stakeholders to develop these programs. You may
be engaged in major destination events, workshops, lectures, tours delivered onsite, online, and
on the road, as well as interpretative programs tailored to diverse audiences.
This part-time ongoing employment opportunity is available in the PERLA Department,
Curatorial and Exhibitions Portfolio and involves after hours and weekend work on a regular
basis. It is expected that on average one weekend in three will be worked, however at times this
may increase.

This position will be filled using the Affirmative Measure provision, which allows for the targeted
