Assistant Registrar


The Assistant Registrar primarily manages the day-to-day operations of the Collection and art stores, including location integrity, storage solutions, movement planning and management, and documentation. New acquisitions are catalogued, labelled, documented and stored by the Assistant Registrar.

The position is also responsible for providing access to the Collection through the academic requirements for the Collection Study Room, in addition to external requests. In managing the art stores, the position monitors pest and environmental conditions, and facilitates access requests by UQ staff and contractors. The position assists the Registration team in collection management, including organising photographic documentation and copyright requests.

UQ Art Museum is committed to the education and training of the next generation of museum professionals. The Assistant Registrar oversees and instructs correct handling procedures, and assists in the training of interns working within the Registration team.

You are professional and proactive, and have an excellent working knowledge in managing and maintaining museum collections. You are capable of performing the physical duties required to handle and move museum collections. Committed to working as integral team member, you happily provide support to the team when required.
