Assistant Exhibitions Officer opportunity with the Chau Chak Wing Museum, The University of Sydney
Casual 10-month part-time contract (2-3 days per week, as required)
HE05 Step 1 ($54.56 per hour)
About the opportunity
The Assistant Exhibitions Officer assists with the delivery of exhibitions and projects for the Chau Chak Wing Museum. The position will work on the delivery of a selection of the exhibitions and other content, including with the coordination of fabrication, delivery, and installation of exhibitions, to museum standards.
– tertiary qualifications in museum studies or related areas, and/or relevant work experience in exhibitions in museum/gallery environments
– industry knowledge: demonstrated knowledge and application of museum practices and procedures, especially in exhibition realisation and delivery
– exhibition installation experience: experience in the fabrication and installation of exhibitions; experience in the handling, movement and packing of museum and art gallery objects; ability to work with equipment and tools appropriate to exhibition installation
– computer skills: word processing and spreadsheet skills with knowledge of graphics and design processes and production requirements. Experience in or a working knowledge of museum collection management systems
