It’s probable that you have seen a Tequila Sunrise, and possibly endured a headache or two if you have seen too many of them. But if you’ve never seen a Tequila Sunset, the Australian Museum has them on offer all through December and January at half price!
Following in the footsteps of the much loved Jurassic Lounge, the clever folk at the Australian Museum have devised a series of sunsets for you to savour. A Tequila Sunset consists of a Thursday night with Mexican inspired drinks, Latin music and a viewing of Aztecs. Each night there’ll be performers, artists and speakers. Learn about the secrets of chocolate while drinking Four Pines beer; see how-to-make-your-own-piñata and catch the talk on the power of women before The Fall. And just to clarify, that’s not the ‘tripping over after too much tequila’ type of fall, but the fall of the Aztec empire.
In the New Year, you can have your Tequila Sunset teamed with modern astronomy, Aztec cosmology and bizarre artefacts from the afterlife. Get along to learn about what archaeology can tell us about the end of the empire and consume – in moderate and acceptable amounts – more Four Pines beer, quesadillas, corn chips and guacamole.
When: 4 December 2014 - 29 January 2015, Thursday nights, 5:00pm - 9:00pm
