Operating since 2001, Advisor Richard Wesley implements a whole of town approach to heritage issues. The Program works across 3 museums in the town as well as providing advice to museums in the outlying towns in the shire. Richard plays a dual role as Tenterfield’s Heritage Advisor as well as Museum Advisor.

In 2009, Richard developed two small exhibitions within the Sir Henry Parkes School Arts. The first focused on the Indigenous heritage of the region and was developed in collaboration with the Moombahlene Local Aboriginal Lands Council. The second focused n democracy, highlighting the function of the prime minister and outlining the broad political interests of Henry Parkes. A third exhibition was developed in collaboration with the Tenterfield RSL, focusing on significant World War II artefacts owned by the RSL. During the year Richard also worked with the Tenterfield and District Historical Society on the strategic plan and commenced work on a new brochure of heritage based walks about Tenterfield.
