Sally is Senior Museum Curator for Tweed Shire Council and manages the TweedRiver Regional Museum. In 2004 Tweed Shire Council signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the Shires’ Historical Societies, uniting the collections of three museums and creating Tweed River Regional Museum. Architectural plans for a $6 million purpose built museum building have been developed, with construction commencing July 2009.
Until 2005 Sally worked with conservation and planning at the historic Lightstation, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Cape Byron. Between 2000 and 2003 Sally worked at the National Museum of Mongolian History in Ulaan Baatar to implement capacity- building projects, and established education services and a national outreach program for the Museum. Sally began working for the Historic Houses Trust in 1995, and was Public Programs Coordinator at the Museum of Sydney until 2000.
Sally holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma (Heritage Conservation) from University of New England. She has an interest in museum development and in utilising collections for education and cultural exploration. Sally is completing postgraduate studies at Deakin University, exploring political uses of Museum collections.
