A member of the Bundjalung nation, Widjabul clan of Northern NSW and South East QLD, Rhoda’s involvement in the arts is extensive.
Rhoda has been involved with a number of large events in varying roles including: Awakening Segment Sydney Olympic Games Opening Ceremony; Rugby World Cup 2003; Athens handover ceremony; Musee Du Quay Branley opening ceremony, Paris; Japan Expo; and World Youth Day.
She has been Artistic Director of a number of festivals, including the 1997 Cultural Olympiad Festival of the Dreaming; Sydney Dreaming Festival, and the annual international festival in Woodford The Dreaming, which she founded.
Rhoda is well known for experience as a journalist and presenter, including positions with SBS television, Network Ten, ABC radio and on the current affairs program, Vox Populi. Rhoda has written and produced several documentaries, and was the first Aboriginal person to host a national prime time current affairs program.
She currently hosts the television program Living Strong, and is a Producer for Vibe Australia. She continues her work in radio with the national music program Deadly Sounds.
Her theatre work includes the one woman shows Please Explain and Bible Boxing Love. Rhoda directed the Opera Miricoloa a Milanao by Giorgio Battistelli for the Brisbane Festival 2009, and she features in the film A Sisters Love, produced and directed by Ivan Sen. Rhoda is currently completing her first novel Tullymorgan.
