Advisor Linda Raymond commenced in late 2005, following on from the Standards Program undertaken by the Forbes and Grenfell museums in that year. The two councils have been working together in an alliance that addresses heritage and cultural tourism opportunities. Through the program, the museums have undertaken training in significance assessment, regional identity and exhibition development. This has led to a re-examination of their collections and the development of new exhibitions.

The museums are currently looking at their relationship to the nineteenth century goldrush and how it is reflected in their collections and exhibitions. There has been a noticeable increase in visitor numbers in the past 2 years.
