Coordinator, Community Heritage Grants, National Library of Australia
I commenced at the NLA in 1991 and have worked in many different areas of the Library including Cataloguing, Reference and Stack Services areas.
Spent nearly 10 years in the Oral History and Folklore Branch where the main duties were collection development and management. This involved much liaison with many Australians, from politicians to poets, who were interviewees for the oral history collection.
In 2007-08 I managed the Preservation Section of the Library.
I recently spent 12 months in the Library’s Development Office, seeking sponsorship and donations for Library activity before starting as the Coordinator of the Community Heritage Grants program.
All of these positions have enhanced my knowledge of many of the issues facing collecting organisations such as caring for collections and resourcing this care.
