Defying extinction: keeping museums and galleries alive

Museums & Galleries NSW and the Historic Houses Trust present Defying extinction: keeping museums and galleries alive, a timely seminar exploring creative and effective approaches to funding. Including metropolitan and regional speakers, the seminar will look at how a range of museums and galleries have succeeded in generating alternative streams of revenue and support to help keep them afloat. 

 

The first seminar in the annual Museum of Sydney/Museums & Galleries NSW series, Defying extinction will be held on Friday, 3 April 2009 at the Museum of Sydney from 2 – 5pm.

 

Speakers include:

  • Marcus Westbury, Founder, Renew Newcastle and THIS IS NOT ART
  • Virginia Henderson AM, Director NSW, Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF)
  • David Wynne, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney
  • Facilitator: Marah Braye, Chief Executive Officer , Biennale of Sydney
