The program began in late 2006. Advisor Geoff Speirs is working with a diverse group of more than six museums across the Broken Hill local government area. Geoff produces a newsletter to keep the museum community informed about each other and his work in the region.

Geoff has provided support to the museums on collection management and grant applications, supported new exhibition planning at the GeoCentre and advised council about proposed new museum projects, and on the documenting and conservation of significant objects in the care of the council.
