Illawarra Light Railway Museum

The Illawarra Light Railway Museum is a place for public exhibition of light railway locomotives and rolling stock, along with other related items of historical interests.

We educate the public in the mechanics, manufacture and operation of steam engines and other mechanical devices used for light railway operations and industry.

As well as inform the public in the use of railways and tramways for industrial and other purposes, particularly those within the Illawarra region of New South Wales.

Entry Fees

Children under three years of age travel free when accompanied by an adult.

Children aged three to sixteen: child’s fare applies.

Steam/Diesel Train Rides (Mainline and Bay Road)

Single – Adult $10.00

Single – Child/Concession $5.00

Steam locomotives do not operate on days of total fire ban

The advertised locomotive may be changed without notice due to availability or operational requirements

Miniature Train Rides

Covered footwear must be worn on the miniature train ride

Single – $5.00 (NO child or concession discount)

All Rounder Ticket (Any combination of Mainline, Bay Road or Miniature Train)

Three rides – Adult $15.00

Three rides – Child/Concession $10.00

All Day Single (Unlimited Rides on Mainline, BayRoad or Miniature Train)

Adult – $25.00

Child/Concession – $20.00

Family Ticket (Unlimited Rides on Mainline, Bay Road or Miniature Train)

Max of five wrist bands – $70.00

School Holiday Week Day rides (When open and available)

Adult – $10.00

Child/Concession – $5.00

Guided Locomotive Shed Tours (Times will be advertised on the Running day)

Covered footwear must be worn on locomotive shed tours.

Single Adult – $10.00

Single Child/Concession – $5.00
