email bulletin:
Museums & Galleries NSW CEO Maisy Stapleton has today announced the recipients of its 2009 Mentorships and Fellowship Program.
With funds from Arts NSW, each year Museums & Galleries NSW (M&G NSW) supports a range of museum and gallery staff from regional and remote areas to undertake mentorship placements in state, national and international cultural institutions.
Ms Stapleton announced that Jane Cush, Director of Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, has been awarded the 2009 International Fellowship placement with the Boston Children’s Museum in the USA – one of America’s leading children’s museums.
“This is a fabulous opportunity to visit, learn and return with new ideas to apply at Goulburn Regional Art Gallery”. “I feel inspired already and am looking forward to this experience very much”, Ms Cush said.
M&G NSW has provided the opportunity for a Director of a regional museum or gallery to undertake an International Fellowship since 2008. Last year’s recipient was Debbie Abraham from Lake Macquarie City Gallery who visited Manchester City Galleries in the UK.
