M&G NSW recognises that education is a key strategy for galleries to connect and engage with the community. When galleries have strong relationships with schools in their area, they can facilitate access to artists, collections, temporary exhibitions, resources and specialist staff with meaningful and relevant learning experiences for all students.

 

Increasingly, touring exhibitions are accompanied by specially designed Education Kits with curriculum related material, assisting galleries to maximise their educational role and encouraging greater visitation to galleries by schools.

 

For galleries interested in developing their own gallery related education programs/projects, M&G NSW also offers GALLERY focusED small grants program.

 

M&G NSW currently has Education Kits associated with five of its touring exhibitions:

 

GREAT COLLECTIONS

GREAT COLLECTIONS is the chance to give your students the unique opportunity to see, in their home town, treasures drawn from the magnificent collections of New South Wales’ eight premier cultural institutions. GREAT COLLECTIONS supports broad curriculum goals with the potential to inspire your students and assist develop a range of critical thinking skills and literacies. The exhibition is supported by in-depth teacher and student resources avaialble online.
