Museum Programs and Collections Manager
Tamara graduated as a paper conservator in 1982. After a brief stint as an assistant conservator to the fledgling National Museum of Australia (which at that time consisted of a large tin shed in Fyshwick), she moved to Queensland to take up the position of Paper Conservator at the Queensland State Archives.
After five years there Tamara moved to the Queensland Art Gallery as Conservator for Works on Paper for twelve months while a colleague was on maternity leave. She then took a 3 month break to travel overseas and play at being an artist, before taking up the newly created position of Preservation Manager at the State Library of Queensland.
In 1993 she moved from Brisbane to Sydney and commenced working with Conservation Access, a commercial service at the State Library of NSW, as a trainer and consultant. During this time Tamara became fully immersed in disaster prevention, response and recovery. In 1997 she moved to the Historic Houses Trust of NSW to take up the role of Collections Manager until 2011.
Tamara has now joined the M&G NSW team as Museum Programs and Collections Manager. This position is responsible for the provision of services to support the small to medium museum sector and its collections within NSW.
