Museum Programs and Collections Manager

 

Museums & Galleries NSW is seeking to employ a Museum Programs and Collections Manager. This position is responsible for the provision of services to support and develop the small to medium museum sector and its collections within NSW. It also oversees a range of devolved grants and funded programs and provides support to the CEO in the development and implementation of M&G NSW strategic and business plans.

 

This role is responsible for:

  • Recommending, developing and implementing programs and strategic initiatives to enhance and support the small to medium museum sector of NSW
  • Researching and articulating policies and actions which contribute to positive developments in the small to medium museum sector of NSW
  • Managing the Museum Advisor Program
  • Managing the museums programs and collections team of staff volunteers and project consultants
  • Providing information to the sector, government and other stakeholders on museum practice
  • Identifying and/or managing professional development/training opportunities

Professional Development Coodinator 

 

Museums & Galleries NSW are seeking to employ a Professional Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for the provision of professional development services that support and develop the small to medium museum and gallery sector within NSW. It also coordinates the Mentorship and Fellowship devolved grant program and assists with coordination of the four M&G NSW reference committees.

 

Working with the CEO and senior management, the position will work to develop event briefs, identify and confirm presenters, coordinate and book travel, catering and venues, undertake event administration and database entry, promotion and budget management.

 

This role is responsible for:

  • Coordinating  and implementing the delivery of the M&G NSW professional development program
  • Coordinating and implementing the delivery of the Mentorship and Fellowship grant program
  • Assisting with the coordination of the Museum, Gallery, Volunteer and Aboriginal Reference Committees

 

This position could be either 4 or 5 days a week depending on the successful candidate.
